Cena may salute Habs on TV show

John Cena has a big decision to make before he appears at Tuesday night's Smackdown! taping at Montreal's Bell Centre. Which jersey should he wear?

"It's a toss-up," he said on the phone the other day. "I had a Gary Carter Expos jersey, but I think I've worn it there before. I might have to do something with the Montreal Canadiens."

Cena says his favourite jersey is one signed by deceased Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Derrick Thomas. "Right now, I'm on the lookout for one signed by Reggie White," said Cena, who believes that wearing a jersey to each show pays homage to the city.

"I can wear a (home-run king) Sadaharu Oh in Japan and break the language barrier with just that."

Cena's looking forward to performing in Montreal, in front of the Chain Gang.

"Canadian fans are very wrestling savvy, probably because of the rich tradition," he said. "You know if you tear the house down in Canada, you've done an exceptional job.

"The Chain Gang just means everyone's on the same level -- from the bum on the street to the dude riding a limo with cattle horns."

It's been a busy year for 27-year-old Cena. He wrapped up filming The Marine and he's waiting for his CD, You Can't See Me, to be released.

"The Marine is a low-budget action film, but it was an awesome experience," said Cena. "I was there for five months and we had such a great time. Hopefully, it will be out this fall.

"The album's been done for so long. It was pushed back until December, then January, but it will be out May 10. It's got 18 tracks. We redid the whole thing. It is on fire. We wanted to prove that John Cena can rap ... he can hip hop."

Cena has also done plenty of travelling.

"I was on the road 315 days last year ... and it'll be almost every day this year," he said. "It's a new city every night.

"It's crazy. I'm from a small town ... West Newbury, Mass., where people stay and die there. But I'm getting to travel. At times, it's hectic ... but it's a great experience."
