WWE Champion John Cena, WWE SmackDown Superstar Rey Mysterio and WWE RAW Superstar Shelton Benjamin are featured in a series of posters in support of the National Reading Campaign, an initiative of the National Literacy Trust.
The National Reading Campaign has made 30,000 Reading Champions posters available free of charge to schools across the U.K. as incentives to encourage boys and young men to read more often. The posters carry the message that even WWE Superstars make time to read.
WWE Superstars will also be visiting some of the schools participating in the Reading Connects programme during the Survivor Series tours, which visit the UK this November.
Julia Strong, Director of the National Reading Campaign, said, "Reading has the power to change lives. The WWE Superstars are heroes to many people, and we're delighted that they are working to inspire others to read; particularly men and boys."
The Reading Champions posters are free to those working to promote literacy.
WWE Champ John Cena says reading opens his mind to new ideas and keeps him current."Reading opens your mind. How else can you travel to far away places and experience different cultures, all while staying at home, says Cena. "I read to keep up on what's happening in the world so when I'm in the ring or playing music, I'm on top of my game."
I find reading to be inspiring and educational, says WWE SmackDown Rey Mysterio. If people read more, they will be more creative and imaginative. I read all the time.
Reading feeds the imagination, which, for me, inspires dreams and ideas, says WWE RAW Superstar Shelton Benjamin. We are all honored to be part of the Reading Champions program to encourage others to read more and to achieve their own dreams, just as we have achieved ours.
