West Newbury’s John Cena at Coca-Cola 600 West Newbury native and World Wrestling Entertainment wrestler John Cena was at LMS this weekend to promote his upcoming NASCAR-related reality show, “Fast Car and Superstars – Gillette Young Guns Celebrity Challenge” with Carl Edwards. "Being a guy from Boston, I wouldn’t have a closed mind about NASCAR,” Cena said. “Even though it started in the south, it crosses all colors and creeds and is a real family sport.” Cena and 12 other former athletes like John Elway and actor William Shattner are paired with Gillette’s Young Guns (Kurt Busch, Jimmie Johnson, Ryan Newman, Edwards, Jamie McMurray and Kasey Kahne) as they learn what it takes to be the best on the race track in this 7-episode reality series.. The show will air on Ch. 5 on June 7 at 8 p.m. “No of us have ever driven before. I started out friendly, but it got a little sticky near the end,” Cena said.
